Let me introduce myself. I am a freelance translator based near Norwich, Norfolk with over 19 years' experience in translating French and Italian legal and finance documents.
I am a qualified member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI) and before setting up my language services business I practised as a solicitor, so I am well-placed to deal with the complexities of translating legal and finance documentation.

I have always had a passion for French and Italian language and culture. As well as achieving my first class honours degree in French, I have spent time living in Paris and Milan, and built up expertise in the specialist terminology and nuances of legal and business language.
lawyer
After qualifying as a solicitor, I worked in legal practice for several major regional law firms. I specialised in overseas insurance litigation before moving into insolvency, which gave me a strong grounding in a wide range of aspects of law and procedure.
ITI assessed
As a freelance translator, I have been assessed by the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, the UK's professional membership association for practising translators, and have the status of qualified member (MITI). I undertake regular CPD training to keep my skills up to date.

I can check and revise your existing translations of legal, banking, financial and other documents, to provide you with a final version which is accurate, reads fluently and uses the correct English terminology.
certified translations
I can certify French translations for official use, in accordance with ITI guidance. Contact me for details.

Where a document has been translated using machine translation or AI, I can check the translation thoroughly and revise it, ensuring that errors and inconsistencies are corrected and that it reads fluently.
monolingual proofreading and editing
Has your document been written in English by a non-native speaker? I can check the English and make any changes needed to ensure that it reads fluently and accurately.
general translation
Do you have a document which is not legal or financial? I also translate all kinds of general texts, as long as the subject matter is not too specialist (e.g. technical or scientific). Please enquire here.
